Community Advisory Grant

Welcome. Thank you for visiting our website for the Community Advisory Grants of Young Brothers, Ltd. (YB) and Hawaiian Tug & Barge (HTB). During the 100 plus years we have been in business, HTB/YB has supported numerous community needs over the years.

We want to strengthen HTB/YB's community gift giving commitment by providing a more formal way of contributing. Therefore, HTB/YB has established Community Advisory Boards (CAB) for the counties of Hawaii, Kauai and Maui. Leading citizens have been asked to volunteer on the CABs to give us feedback on their communities. Since the program's inception in 2001, HTB/YB contributed a total of $503,150 to over 480 non-profit organizations throughout the state of Hawaii through this gift giving program.

Charitable organizations must be designated 501(c)3 by the Internal Revenue Service. Projects eligible for grants are in the categories of health, education, civic and community services, youth activities, cultural enrichment, environment and special community projects.
